I have my very own John Watson. And she's pretty amazing! (Hello there, John.) While her name isn't actually John, that is what she'll go by for the sake of anonymity. Anyways, John's birthday is in a few days (The 31st, actually,) but because she shares a birthday with one of my brothers, we celebrated a few days early. John, another close friend of mine (Who will go by G, until I can find a better code name) and I spent the day together doing some things that will be featured in a different post. For this post, I want to talk about the Birthday Box (!!) I put together for John. The first thing that I did (after finding a box) was paint the box. I actually decided to add polka dots to it after I painted it. The polka dots were done in hot pink because I wanted to coordinate the stuff, and a bag I used had polka dots in the same teal colour along with hot pink ones. (I'll show the bag later) ...
I was really excited for this post. I had been perusing Pinterest for a few DIY ideas for another post, and I realized that there were many DIYs that I'd have to go to the store to make. So I decided to keep looking and make a list of some I wanted to do. Then I tried doing them using only what I had at home. On top of this, I made it a rule that I could not look up any directions or instructions. The projects actually turned out very well. For the first project, I took some small glass jars, and painted them. I added a coat of spray paint to three of the jars, hoping to get a more modern look. I used 120 grit sandpaper to lightly distress the other ones. I really liked the distressed ones. The next DIY was actually just making something look nicer for my mom. I took an old tray, and painted the inside of it a warm grey. Then I painted the border/handles white, and distressed that with sandpaper as well. This DIY was literally ...
